Beauvoir Films was founded in 2016 in Geneva. The company produces author-driven documentary and fiction features for festival and theatrical releases as well as TV. We work with directors who have a distinct visual narrative approach and strive to push the boundaries of storytelling in compelling and creative ways.

Aline Schmid
Producer
After graduating from the University of Freiburg, Aline Schmid studied scriptwriting in Stuttgart. With Intermezzo Films she has produced several creative documentaries and fiction features, such as SONITA (Sundance / IDFA), BROKEN LAND (Locarno / Rotterdam), CANTOS(Dok.Munich /Mostra Sao Paulo) and HORIZONTES (KVIFF). She participated in the programs Emerging Producer(Jihlava 2013) and Producer on the Move (Cannes 2015). She was tutor at Eurodoc in 2023/24 and part of the ACE Programm 33.
Samuel Bezençon
Administrator
After obtaining a Master’s degree in anthropology, Samuel Bezençon specialised in human resources and cultural administration at La Manufacture, Haute école des arts de la scène, before joining the Beauvoir Films team in 2023. He is very active in the world of French-language theatrical improvisation, both in creation and training, and is an administrator and producer for various professional theatre companies.
Magali Nino
Production assistant
Magali Nino began her career as a journalist for media such as 20 Minutes, Le Courrier, Uniscope and Daily Movies. She specialised in interviews, popular science articles and film festival reviews and coverage. She then worked in corporate communications before turning to cultural project management. She joined Beauvoir Films in 2023.
Sara Dutch
Production assistant
Sara Dutch holds a master in social sciences from the Freie Universität Berlin and in Film Studies from HEAD/ECAL. She has mainly worked in the cultural and NGO sector in Berlin and Geneva, supporting festivals and productions companies as well as implementing programs aimed at active citizenship and democracy. As a director, her first feature length documentary WIE WIR WOLLEN premiered at Kasseler Dokfest in 2021.
