Beauvoir Films was founded in 2016 in Geneva. The company produces author-driven documentary and fiction features for festival and theatrical releases as well as TV. We work with directors who have a distinct visual narrative approach and strive to push the boundaries of storytelling in compelling and creative ways.

Aline Schmid
Producer
After completing a bachelor’s degree at the University of Fribourg, ALINE SCHMID pursued training as a screenwriter in Stuttgart. Following several engagements at festivals, she became head of distribution for Cineworx in Basel, then administrator of the Cinéma Tous Ecrans festival in Geneva. With Intermezzo Films, she has produced numerous award-winning documentary and fiction films. In 2013, she took part in the Emerging Producers programme in Jihlava and Producer on the Move in Cannes in 2015. In 2016, she founded BEAUVOIR FILMS in Geneva. She will participate in ACE in 2023/24.

Cécile Tollu-Polonowski
Producer
Cécile Tollu-Polonowski first studied German Studies and Cultural Management in Paris, Berlin and Saarbrücken. From 2011 to 2019, she worked at Berlinale Forum as a programme consultant. She studied Film Producing at dffb in Berlin. From 2015 to 2025, she worked as a producer at The Match Factory, where she was lucky to collaborate on films by Alice Rohrwacher, Karim Aïnouz, Pietro Marcello, among others. She serves as a programme advisor for the Mannheim-Heidelberg IFF. In 2026, she joined Beauvoir Films in Geneva, as a producer.
Samuel Bezençon
Administrator
After obtaining a Master’s degree in anthropology, Samuel Bezençon specialised in human resources and cultural administration at La Manufacture, Haute école des arts de la scène, before joining the Beauvoir Films team in 2023. He is very active in the world of French-language theatrical improvisation, both in creation and training, and is an administrator and producer for various professional theatre companies.
Magali Nino
Production assistant
Magali Nino began her career as a journalist for media such as 20 Minutes, Le Courrier, Uniscope and Daily Movies. She specialised in interviews, popular science articles and film festival reviews and coverage. She then worked in corporate communications before turning to cultural project management. She joined Beauvoir Films in 2023.
Tania Villard
Production assistant Intern
Tania Villard graduated from the Metfilm School in London in 2024 before coming back to Switzerland. She specialised in offline editing and post-production and worked on several independant fiction and documentary projects. She joined Beauvoir Films in 2026 as a production assistant intern.
